Description

Outsource is looking for a Safety Coordinator for an 8-10 week long contract position in San Antonio. Position could end up going longer. If you are interested please reply immediately as interviews are currently underway. Must be able to work a rotating schedule (one week on days and one week on swing/nights). Schedule is Monday-Saturday.

Position Overview

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving workplace safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and promote a strong safety culture across the organization.

 

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures aligned with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Deliver safety training programs and educate employees on best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare, maintain, and update safety documentation, reports, and compliance records.
  • Stay current with OSHA and other regulatory requirements and ensure organizational adherence.
  • Coordinate and oversee emergency preparedness drills and response plans.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and encourage employee engagement in safety initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related concerns, questions, and guidance.
  • Monitor, track, and analyze safety performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Assist with safety program budgeting and resource planning.

 

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field (preferred).
  • Relevant certification (OSHA 30 required).
  • Data center experience.
  • Proven experience in hazard identification, risk assessment, and safety compliance.
  • Solid knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver engaging and effective safety training sessions.
  • Experience with safety management systems and reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to influence a safety-first culture.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain effective under pressure.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications preferred.

Minimum Requirements (Alternative to Degree)

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Relevant hands-on experience in safety coordination or a related field
